How to Beat The Blues

Hi loves,

Today I want to share some of my tips on how to beat the blues.  Winter is almost over and that means most people are getting over SAD (Seasonal Depression), but that doesn’t meant you can’t use my below techniques to get out of a rut when you get in one.

  1.  A cup of tea – this is one of my favourite ways to warm up especially when its colder of course.  I drink mostly green and black tea and I have tried a few others.  I love the Yogi brand and they have a bunch of different ones it is literally my fave tea and really helps to make you feel better.
  2. Cardio – I have a love and hate relationship with working out, but I find that cardio really does help make me feel better.  It is supposed to increase serotonin levels (the happy chemical) in the body thereby making you feel better.  I just did 30 minutes of cardio at home and I feel so much better.  Its gloomy outside, but I know that the outside world has nothing to do with how I feel (even though thats how it seems), so I decided to take care of my inner world and get moving.  You can watch youtube videos or just lightly jog in one spot in the house if you don’t want to go outside (this is exactly what I did lol)!
  3. Watch a movie – sometimes this is the easiest way to get your mind off something.  Put on a good movie and just relax.  Enjoy the movie and just give yourself a chance to decompress.
  4. Hot Bath – I love taking baths when I feel stressed or overwhelmed.  I put on my favourite playlist and just soak in the tub.  I always feel better afterward!
